Driving to and from Canberra during the School Holidays we passed over the River Murray many times. This is one of the bridges we crossed at Tooleybuc on the boundary between Victoria and New South Wales. Tooleybuc is a pretty little town with an excellent kids playground as my kids will attest. Here the river is muddy and not very impressive, with a width of less than ten metres.
Very different to the dammed portion of the river near Swan Reach.
Bridges are in short supply in my archive. I had better get busy. Once when I had all my slides I had dozens.
ReplyDeleteNice take Colin. I am sure that the Murray at Tooleybuc is far more impressive than the Rom at Roneo Corner! Have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteIt does look nice. Must be a relaxing place to visit :)
ReplyDeleteOne of those weird factual snippets that remain in my head after decades out of school: learning in geography about Australia's Murray-Darling River(s)! ;b
ReplyDeleteA very necessary and functional bridge, despite the "insignificance" of the river just there. "Population 250" - wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe landscape looks very nice ! I don't have a lot of bridges around here in Waterloo where I live.
ReplyDeleteNice shots!
ReplyDeleteI really liked your second shot. What a landscape!
Mine is up to! :)
Have a great weekend!
Sounds like a nice little town!
ReplyDeleteNice shots. But were are the crocs?
ReplyDeleteCheers.
Great sharing here. I hope the heat wave does not affect your part too.

Tooleybuc, such an Australian name. I can't believe I'll be there in a couple of weeks. Well not at Tooleybuc exactly.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a pleasant road to drive on and good bridge choice.
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely! Great post. Come on by and check out my updated version of my post.
ReplyDeleteI love the wide river photo. There is something majestic about a lazy wide river.
ReplyDeleteYou can find mine here:
JyLnC's Photo Hunt. Stop by and check it out if you have time.
Seeing the second picture send images of people rafting on it to my braincells :)
ReplyDeleteHave a good week ahead!
I think seeing the sign really adds to your shot!
ReplyDeleteReally like the photos! Missed checking out your page. Happy hunting!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fine looking bridge and I love the name Tooleybuc! Great choice for the theme!
ReplyDeleteMy God man, it's like you're taking photos of my childhood. In fact, I grew up in Balranald, about half an hour from Tooleybuc. Very familiar with Swan Hill as well...
ReplyDeleteGREAT photos. The scenery in your neck of the woods is just stunning. Australia is so flat!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my Photo Hunt last week. I am finally catching up!
