Eventually they recovered and started to flourish and last year for the first time, just before we left our last house, they flowered. Just a few delicate flowers, but very beautiful. They only lasted a couple of days. Very unexpected blooming and then back to boring green leaves. No idea what they are. Cactuses are like this too. A sudden show of colour.

Never seen one of these before but the look beautiful, if only for a brief time!
Are they some form of iris? They're lovely. That's a very interesting blossom.
