Officials are following up on threats by protesters to unleash an army of protest dogs during President Bush's Ceremonial Visit to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Meeting in Sydney next month. Draconian laws are in place to stop the violence that have plagued similar meetings in Australia. Jails have been cleared to keep human protesters out of action when they are arrested. No bail will be allowed for the period of the meeting.
Contingency plans to ban all dog immigration for the next month and dog lockups are now being seriously considered.
