I have a hard time understanding why Kim Beazley has such a difficulties getting political traction. He seems like a really nice guy, but then so did Simon Crean. He reminds me a lot of Edward Heath, Conservative Party Leader prior to Margaret Thatcher. Really nice thoughtful guys, but similar political fates. Heath won one election out of four and that was a complete surprise (there was no Tampa). Trivia. His London residence was just around the corner from where I worked at the National Coal Board in 1978, just down the hill from Hyde Park Corner and he won the Sydney to Hobart Yacht race in 1969 on Morning Cloud. I think that Kim will be pensioned off after the next election and the next, more dynamic leader, can have a go at Sir Peter Costalot. Meanwhile John Howard has his number and then some.
