Bad Day at the Office

These the ten lowest test scores in cricket and the stories that go with them.

Cricket is interesting in how things can go from good to bad to disastrous very quickly.

People often think of cricket as a team game, but I like to think of it as individual contests between each batsman and the other bowler (and his friends). In these examples, by default, the other team and usually one or two individual bowlers have a very good day at the office.

The lowest score I can remember was playing cricket in High School and being the last person out for a team total of 13. The opening batsman was out for 13 and nobody else scored any runs. It was Kirkcaldy High School we were playing, Gordon Brown's old school. Bastards!

Although not a Test Match, Ireland got the West Indies out for 25 in a two day match in the era of Clive Lloyd and Gary Sobers in Ireland. Great story.

Are you a cricket scorer?

I have done that. Not on that day.

In reality I am a cricket snorer.

I once coached a team which made 4 off 20 overs. Next game they made 170. That's why I have no hair left.
