With news that the UK Government is to invest in a ministerial fleet of aircraft, Scotland, not to be undone is to commission their own fleet. Many taxpayers are furious at the waste of public money and doubt the hot air spouting politicians can justify this investment.
First Minister Alex Salmond justified the plan by saying that this was a small investment and a visible sign of the importance of the Scottish Nation. "If that other Scottish windbag can have one, I'm having one too".
The Tartan Fleet will shuttle Scottish Politicians around, avoiding the tedious drive to Inverness, Ballahulish and Wick.

I've been wondering.
M'Connell used to go down to London every month for a chat with Blair. A cosy relationship.
I wonder what the communication channels are like between Brown and Salmond.
I would imagine they are very pragmatic, but testy. They are both powerful egos with different agendas. Brown needs the Scots to rally behind him so that he can win another election. Salmond needs the Scots to tell Brown to get lost, so that he can pursue his Independence agenda.
I went to University with Jack McConnell. He was an experienced Labour hack even then.
From salmond's point of view, a tory win next time would help him. In practice, Cameron knows losing scotland makes Tory majorities more likely.
Not that he'd admit that.
I would have thought that a Tory UK win would just make Labour stronger in Scotland and because of that potentially a more potent political force.
