One of our neighbourhood Magpies surveys the scene from our lightpole at sunset.

Australian Magpies are quite a bit bigger and noisier than those I remember from the UK. We have two who have called our house their territory.

James They seem very territorial. There are quite a few in the trees over the road, but only ever two poking around and surveying our garden. Interesting and menacing birds. They are not much smaller than Spotty.
