Photo Hunt: Bad Hair

Bad Hair?

Bad Hair?

And this is Lambert de Vermont who has really bad hair.

Not really really bad hair, more really bad wigs. I am very happy that I don't have to deal with it. One of my colleagues wears a wig. He has three or four depending on his mood or what he is doing it seems.

Really I need to dig out some of the hatchet jobs that my mum did to us when we were in high school. Talk of humiliation. Fortunately, I don't know where they are. That is one legacy of my childhood. I will never cut my kids hair. I am happy to pay the money and have somebody do it professionally.

This young lady had a more sensible mum, who didn't cut her hair at all for 17 years and then she cut it off for a cancer charity. That is a lot of growing. Not sure if that would constitute a bad hair day? I had mine done for cancer charity early in the year, but it was only a centimetre taken off.

And these are just bad.

Those are great shots for the theme. We used to have a clown wig like the one you showed. I grew my hair very long and cut it for "lock for love" a group that makes wigs for children with cancer. I'm getting too much silver in my hair to do that anymore because they don't want gray hair. Hope you and your family have a great weekend.

Seriously, what were people thinking back in the day with those wigs? They looked like they walked about with sheep on their heads.
The charity haircut is very brave!

Normally, I don't like hair as long as that girl's. But because she grew it long and cut it off for such an honourable purpose, I applaud her. I'd never cut my daughters' hair either - always took them to the hairstylist.

Oh, I am so glad people don't wear those long wigs any more. The little clowns are cute! That was great that the last girl grew and donated hers for a worthy cause. That's one thing you can donate that does replace itself eventually.

Cool hair postings. I'm glad to know you did something with your hair for a charitable cause. Well done :)

I knew there would be some "good" bad hair photos over here. My daughter has grown her hair twice for cancer wigs (takes two years for twelve inches) but she's getting grey hair now so not so good for children's wigs. Have a good weekend.

Great choices. The clowns look so cute. The last photo, that is a sweet action that she did :)

Can't imagine wearing a wig nowadays (except for a party!).
My 20 yo could have had long hair to his waist had he chosen to (my husband couldn't because of his parents) but he goes every 5-6 weeks to get a haircut.
Love your choices for the theme, have a grand weekend :)

As ever, your choices for the current PhotoHunt theme gave me a much needed giggle - great shots. BTW, for some reason, that Lambert de Vermont fella reminds me of Dave Mustaine of Megadeth.

Have a lovely weekend!

I can't imagine wearing a wig, or a hat. Itchy and hot. Hot and itchy. How wonderful and brave that young girl was to cut it for a cancer charity!

I've donated my hair for cancer victims too! It's a great, noble thing to do!!

My 'bad hair' is of a TV star from decades ago...stop by, won't you?

[there is also a long meme I did for today, so if you wish to leave a comment for me, you will have to scroll down the blog entry to find the comment link!]

What great choices for this week's bad hair theme! My daughter donated her hair for charity - she has extremely thick fast growing hair, doesn't take after me at all!

I am guilty of cutting my sons hair while they were growing up, I hope I didn't psychologically damage them.

Great collection of shots

I pray I don't have to wear a wig. :)

And I'm agonizing over the shaving of my head for Cancer charity. Ya, I know... I shouldn't. Just do it.

Great choice but keep in mind some advices by the hairlosscounter.com/ that hairstyles can contribute to hair loss, most notably styles involving tight braids or pull-backs. This form of hair loss is called traction alopecia. This occurs when the hair is pulled tightly back and fastened at the base of the skull, or braided into tight braids or rows. Exposure to this type of hairstyle over long periods can result in a scarring alopecia, with no potential for regrowth.
